(2) An input capacitor is not required for LDO stability. However, an input capacitance with an effective value of 0.1μF minimum is recommended to counteract the effect of source resistance and inductance, which can in some cases cause symptoms of system level instability such as ringing or oscillation, especially in the presence of load transients.
(3) All capacitor values listed are the nominal value and the effective capacitance is assumed to derate to 50% of the nominal capacitor value.
(5) The CFF capacitor improves transient, noise, and PSRR performance, but is not required for regulator stability. Using a higher capacitance CFF is permissible but start-up time increases.
